SIA GenEra offers a range of genetic testing services for animals:
By choosing the DNA tests offered by SIA GenEra Laboratory and learning the genotype of a pet, it is possible to improve the health of purebred animals in several generations, avoiding unwanted diseases. Genetic testing is the most accurate way to analyze the most common possible genetic disorders and to partially predict visual characteristics.
There are various commercial genetic tests and test kits available on the market, but we urge you to consider the need for such tests, as most often they are not assessed and sufficiently proven, leading to hasty or incorrect conclusions about the animal. We recommend that you seek specialist advice on the need for genetic testing.
If you do not know what genetic tests your pet needs, we recommend that you consult a veterinarian or the Latvian Cynological Federation (FCI), Latvian Felinology Association (WCF), or a breed club if you plan to use the animal for breeding.
Important to know!
All available veterinary DNA tests are performed remotely - animals are not admitted to the laboratory!
Selected tests can be purchased in our e-shop. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us!
